自身の故郷や他者にとっての故郷、それらは分けて考えられないものである。そして、「土」はそれらを地続きにする。
賀来庭辰、井上瑞貴、日原聖子は、各々の出自の先にあるものや社会の複合性を見つめることから生じる問いのそばで、それぞれの関連する地域へ赴きながら、その地をめぐるリサーチ及び制作を行ってきた。故郷を離れることに比重を置きながら、その過程は土地や人との距離、関わり方について思考すること、他者（そして自己）を理解しようとすることへとしばしば接続されている。

One’s own home cannot be considered in isolation from the homes of others. It is “soil” that connects them, the continuous ground extending beneath them.
Kaku Naotatsu, Inoue Mizuki, and Hihara Seiko have each conducted research and produced art in places connected to their particular concerns, engaging with the questions that arise in reflecting upon their origins and the complexities of society. Though their work often begins from the experiences of leaving home, these processes frequently lead to reflections on distance and relationships with places and people, as well as attempts to understand others—and oneself. Through the works of these three artists, TUTI NI KAERE* opens a space for us to reconsider our relationships with others and with the land from their individual positions. Considering distances marked by contradiction, erosion, and uncertainty, the exhibition quietly allows a sense of togetherness to emerge.

*TUTI NI KAERE（土にかへれ） is the title of a poetry collection by poet Narumi Yokichi that exhibiting artist Kaku Naotatsu encountered during the research for this exhibition. TUTI means earth, soil, or ground; KAERE is a form of the verb “to return.”



賀来 庭辰 | Kaku Naotatsu 　https://naotatsukaku.com/
東京都生まれ。2016年映画美学校フィクションコース修了。
東京を拠点に、写真と映像を用いて自身のルーツや家族、そして移動や滞在の中で出会う風景を記録している。写真や映像に記録されたないまぜの風景が、言葉のない感情や記憶を立ち上げ、連れ立っていくあり方に関心を持ち、制作を続けている。
これまでの作品に、友人の子供が生まれてくるまでの夜の風景を記録した《夜》や、冬のあいだに湖が凍り、やがて解けるまでを記録した映像作品《THE LAKE》などがある。

Born in Tokyo. Completed the Fiction Course at the Film School of Tokyo in 2016. Based in Tokyo, Kaku Naotatsu works with photography and video, documenting personal roots, family, and the landscapes encountered through movement and periods of stay. His practice is shaped by an interest in how the layered and indistinct landscapes recorded through photography and moving images can evoke emotions and memories that resist language, and how these might accompany one another. His works include “Yoru (The Night)”, which records nocturnal landscapes during the period leading up to the birth of a friend’s child, and “THE LAKE”, a video work documenting a lake as it freezes over the winter and gradually thaws.

井上 瑞貴 | Inoue Mizuki 　https://mizukiinoue.com/
熊本県生まれ。 2019年多摩美術大学大学院美術研究科修士前期課程修了。
他者との会話を元に、拠点の東京から三陸沿岸部と熊本・長崎に足を運び、他者個人の視点や態度を、絵と映像を用いて可視化する。ある地点とある地点の間で起こる事、個人がそうせざるを得なかった立場性や背景を思考しながら制作を続ける。

Born in Kumamoto. Completed the Master's Program in Fine Arts at Tama Art University in 2019. Based on conversations with others, Inoue Mizuki travels from her base in Tokyo to the Sanriku coast as well as Kumamoto and Nagasaki, using painting and video to trace the perspectives and attitudes of individuals she encounters. Her practice reflects on what takes place between one location and another, as well as the circumstances and backgrounds that have shaped the positions people have found themselves in, continuing to explore these questions through her work.

日原 聖子 | Hihara Seiko　https://seikohihara.com/
神奈川県生まれ。2018年プラハ美術アカデミー修了。2025年東京藝術大学大学院博士後期課程修了。
令和3年度ポーラ美術振興財団在外研修員としてチェコ共和国にて研修。
東京とチェコを拠点に活動。歴史学的・民俗学的な視点や他者との共同リサーチを起点に、歴史や社会の狭間に落ちていったものについて思考している。糸や布、ドローイングを用い、人からものを借りるなどしながら、それらの連続が他者の存在を織り交ぜ作品となる。
主な個展に「Tři šuplíky (Three Drawers)」プラハ市立図書館 Artotéka（2024、プラハ）、「Circle in red」駒込倉庫（2021、東京）など。主なグループ展に「SPIN 記憶の再生」岡山県立美術館（2024、岡山）、「地下の」TALION GALLERY（2024、東京）、「Herstorie」プラハ美術アカデミー 大学図書館（2022）、「Knit and Purl: From Oneself, around the Void and through it」Ústí nad Labem House of Arts（2022、ウースチー・ナド・ラベム、チェコ）、「いつかは世の中の傘」 TALION GALLERY（2022、東京）など。 主な受賞歴に第13回 岡山県新進美術家育成「I氏賞」 奨励賞（2020）、ヨゼフ・フラーフカ賞（2018）、第4回 CAF賞 入選（2017）など。
Born in Kanagawa, Japan. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 2018 and completed the doctoral program at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2025. As an Overseas Research Fellow of the Pola Art Foundation in 2021, undertook research in the Czech Republic. Based between Tokyo and the Czech Republic, Hihara develops a practice through historical and ethnographic perspectives, as well as collaborative research with others, reflecting on what has slipped through the gaps of history and society. Using thread, fabric, and drawing, and borrowing objects from others, Hihara creates works in which these continuities, interwoven with the presence of others, emerge as artworks.
